Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Sell out First Show - Add 2nd Show at Wachovia Center June 6th

After performing for a worldwide audience of 140 million during Super Bowl XLII Halftime Show, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers sold out their Wachovia Center show (set for June 5) in less than one hour this morning via ComcastTIX. The 2008 summer tour follows on the heels of a remarkable few years in which Tom and the Heartbreakers have gone from strength to strength. The band’s sold-out thirtieth anniversary tour was the biggest of their career. The Peter Bogdanovich-directed documentary Runnin’ Down A Dream, a commercial and critical success for the band, established the Heartbreakers’ story as a striking embodiment of the American Dream.

With the massive Super Bowl Halftime Show taking the momentum one notch higher, the summer tour promises to be a further affirmation that Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are indeed one of the best live bands in the business.
