Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Sell out First Show - Add 2nd Show at Wachovia Center June 6th

After performing for a worldwide audience of 140 million during Super Bowl XLII Halftime Show, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers sold out their Wachovia Center show (set for June 5) in less than one hour this morning via ComcastTIX. They immediately added a second show at the Wachovia Center on Friday, June 6 at 8 p.m. Tickets for the newly added show priced at $75 and $95 go on sale NOW exclusively at ComcastTIX.com, 1-800-298-4200, the Wachovia Complex Box Office, or select ACME locations.

The 2008 summer tour follows on the heels of a remarkable few years in which Tom and the Heartbreakers have gone from strength to strength. The band’s sold-out thirtieth anniversary tour was the biggest of their career. The Peter Bogdanovich-directed documentary Runnin’ Down A Dream, a commercial and critical success for the band, established the Heartbreakers’ story as a striking embodiment of the American Dream.

With the massive Super Bowl Halftime Show taking the momentum one notch higher, the summer tour promises to be a further affirmation that Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are indeed one of the best live bands in the business. As in past years, the Heartbreakers will travel with a very special, handpicked support act. This summer tour continues the tradition of great musical packages, with legend Steve Winwood opening every show.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers released their debut album in 1976. Since that time they have sold more than 50 million records. Between the Heartbreakers’ recordings and his solo work, Tom Petty has received 18 Grammy nominations. Honored with lifetime achievement awards including Billboard’s Century Award, MTV’s Video Vanguard Award, and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Tom Petty, with the Heartbreakers at his side, has achieved the status of rock and roll icon among his fellow musicians and listeners worldwide.

Tickets for all Wachovia Center and Wachovia Spectrum events are available exclusively through ComcastTIX at ComcastTIX.com, 1-800-298-4200, the Wachovia Complex Box Office, select ACME locations, and the Virtua Health Flyers Skate Zone at Voorhees.
