Mark Zarthar is Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Philadelphia Flyers and Wells Fargo Center. In his role, Zarthar oversees a wide range of business decisions and strategies for marketing functions such as branding, creative content and video production, digital and social media, broadcasting, event presentation, advertising, and community relations. During his tenure with the Flyers, his team has won two Regional Emmy Awards both in 2021 for Commercial Single Spot and Sports Program.
Prior to joining Comcast Spectacor, Zarthar was President of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, the Houston Astros MiLB affiliate. He was responsible for launching all business and baseball operations of the Woodpeckers, including the development of its new ballpark, Segra Stadium.
During his time in Fayetteville, he established the team’s brand identity, built the team’s sponsor and season ticket holder bases, and initiated community outreach via the Woodpeckers Fund. Zarthar was named to Business North Carolina’s 20 Most Influential Sports Execs list and in 2019 the Woodpeckers were recognized by several industry awards including Ballpark of the Decade and Best New Branding/Logo by Ballpark Digest.
Prior to his tenure with the Woodpeckers, Zarthar held various positions in brand management and sports marketing for Anheuser-Busch InBev in New York City and St. Louis, overseeing several national campaigns across various brands. In 2017, his team received the Award of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of America and the GDUSA Award for Best Package Design.
Zarthar received a BSBA degree in Finance from the University of Richmond and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
