PHIL WEINBERG
Executive Vice President / General Counsel
 

Phil Weinberg has served as Executive Vice President/General Counsel at Comcast-Spectacor since the partnership was created in l996. He previously was Spectacor’s Vice President/General Counsel since December of 1990.

 

He is responsible for oversight of all the company’s legal affairs, including litigation, financing activities and player related matters.

 

Additionally, Weinberg serves as Executive Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs for Comcast Sports Management Group, which manages 10 networks serving 40 million viewers in top markets across the United States.

 

He is an alternate governor to the National Hockey League and to the National Basketball Association. He participated in structuring the construction and permanent financing for the Wachovia Center (1994) and in the merger between Comcast and Spectrum (1996).

 

Weinberg received a BA in Political Science from Hamilton College in Clifton, New York, in 1977 and his law degree from Boston University in l983. Between l977 and l980, he served as an assistant to the Commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. Prior to joining Spectacor, he was in the private practice of law for seven years, primarily with the litigation firm of Sprague and Sprague.

 

He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation, the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation and White Williams Scholars.

 

Weinberg resides in Jenkintown, PA, with his wife, Terry, daughter, Sydney and Son, Zachary.
